Hey there everyone!

I've been lurking here for a bit - I've been trying to find a decent motorcycle forum on the web that isn't filled with total insanity (c'mon man, 130 on the highway is fine!!) and this place seems like a good one.

I don't own a motorcycle yet, I have the MSF course coming up at the end of the month, and sometime after that I anticipate bike shopping. I've ridden as the 2nd person in 2up a ton and I love motorcycles. Couple that with the rising gas prices, and now seems like a great time to start getting into it.

I'm not sure yet what type of bike I'll be getting - I know it'll be used and with a smaller engine for my first one. We'll see when the time comes. I'm leaning more towards a standard/cruiser type bike.

Oh and despite the name seeming male (as I've been told before) I'm female - and almost 27 to boot!

Go to a variety of dealers and sit on all kinds of different motorcycles. Even if you don’t think you’d like the ride when you look at it. I was dead set on one riding style when I started and ended up buying a different type. You may surprise yourself as well.

And, don't forget to visit the Beginner's Guide, stickies and the Learn To Ride A Motorcycle page which is now downloadable in PDF format (Created and maintained by Dragonhawk).

Thanks! I've been pouring over those and intend on picking up a copy of 'proficient motorcycling' soon..just haven't yet.
