Yeah today was going to be good. Finished the last day of high school for the rest of my life

. It's raining really hard and on the way home I lost traction in a corner and went off the road. Not sure if it was a lowside or highside or what, all I know is "OH "fudge"!" and then some dirt and then some sky. Yes I'm a teenager, no I don't drive like an "O Ring". I've been riding for almost 2 years, 13000 miles this year alone, in all kinds of weather. It was the most familiar road too, I drive it all the time. Just a combination of horrible weather, worn tires, my distracted mindset (happy until i felt the slip

), and gravel in just the wrong spot I guess. My bike hit a tree, all I got was a headache and some scrapes. So yeah I'm pretty "procreating" upset. Life finally starts and I lose the most important part of it. Anyway, haven't checked out everything yet, it's still lying in the ditch as I type this, but it appears most of the damage is front-end. So my options are to first of all get a job , then look around for a cheap bike to get me by while I find a front end somewhere that sort of matches, get some new mufflers, and make this one my project bike. I'm not giving up on this machine.
Yep.
Not looking for sympathy or anything, I just needed an outlet for my disappointment and writing is a good one.
P.S. No pics, sorry, I'd never post a pic of a family member in the hospital so I'm not posting a pic of my dead bike either!
Oh great, the rain stopped just now. Thanks a lot "procreating" weather gods.

That sux man, but at least your okay. The wierd thing is that most of the time accidents happen on roads we're familiar with, I just forget where the info comes from and yeah accidents mostly involve zoning out due to familiarity. Live to learn and learn to live.
I too rode in heavy rain but it was yesterday night and almost crapped myself when the rain was bad enough to hide a car's brake light driving 40 ft. in front of me.

Welcome to the first days of your working life! Can't recall when life wasn't bending me over and giving me a swift kick in the arse once I left school.
Glad you're alright.
And yeah, what bike was it?

Honda VF700C.
I'm in a relatively happy mood now! My awesome neighbor brought a low bed trailer and drove it home for me. There's a bigass dent in the right muffler and the pillion backrest as well as all the turn signals are no more. The entire front end save the tire is going to have to be scrapped. But the midsection: tank, seats, and most importantly engine are in good shape. No leaks! With a little work I'll be back on the road in hopefully less than a month. Just gotta find the right parts, maybe do a little mix and match, electrical work. Not too shabby

. Oh and I'm definitely getting a new rear tire...
Thanks for the welcome Bachstrad37

ooooh a super magna! Sweet.
Mine's an '86 700cc.
Do you know if the parts would be interchangeable from one '80s magna to the next?
And also, where do you live and what time are you usually at work?

I think there was a total redesign in 87 so there wouldn't be much that fit. I know for sure the front fender would fit
(runs outside to make sure bike is still there...)
