Well its official I am bike shopping again. I just sold my CX500 (getting more than I paid for it too) and am looking to upgrade.

I am looking at something like a 599 or FZ6, maybe an SV650. Going to try to find a used specimen though the used bike market around here is 90% cruisers so it will take some looking.

How long did you ride that CX ? Was it your first bike ?

BTW, if its not raining here tomorrow I'm gonna go check out the FZ6 & SV650.

Great choice on the 599 or the FZ6. I live in central PA and no dealer stocks those bikes around here. Called every Honda Dealer about the 599 and the 919 and they all told me they never ordered any cause they have a hard time selling them. The FZ6, one outta 10 Yamaha Dealers might have one on stock and they won't deal off the msrp price for it. There was a used 2004 FZ6 with 3000 miles in the classified for on $3900, I called about it and it was sold the first day. Im in the same boat I wanta buy a new bike too I have my 2005 M50 for sale for a new reduced price of $4800 and nobody wants it, and if I trade it in the dealers will only give me $2700. The new bikes I was looking at is the Suzuki V Strom DL1000, the Yamaha FZ1, and the Kawasaki Concours, the reason being is I want a long distance touring bike that can keep up with any bike I ride with. I don't agree with ur choice on the Suzuki SV650, I have a friend that owns one, I rode it and it didn't impress me, even my M50 has better acceleration and the engine noise it makes is embaressing, sounds like an oversized moped engine.

I would say go for the SV....I just got one and it's amazing. Fits my frame a whoooole lot better than my old GS. I guess the one super cool part about it...it runs (unlike my GS  )

Yes I am. I find the VLX doesn't have enough power to pass on the highway and its a little too buzzy for me at highway speeds.

Prolly will wait till the end of summer tho unless I can find a good deal on a bike. Its prolly easier to get good deals on bikes during the winter.

Cool. How long did it take to sell your Honda ? Did you use craigslist, newspaper, etc ?
