OK - so I haven't been on here much for the last few days. I'm sure everyone has missed my deep insight

, quick wit

and yummy avatar!
After A LOT of research and several test rides, I purchased myself a new 2006 VTX 1300. In just over 2 days I have put 250 miles (400km) on it. What a blast!

I've had a few interesting experiences in that short time too. I had road debris (a busted windshield and piece of aluminum framing) to dodge, ran out of gas, scraped a peg in a turn, did a good mixture of city, highway, day and night driving with various traffic loads on the road and today got to drive home on wet roads after a rainfall. The wet road was the biggest suprise - I felt like I was riding on a sheet of ice, as I could feel the wheels drift.
Needless to say I'm conciously aware of my comfort and skill level, but it all takes time and practice. So by the end of next week, I will be enrolled in a road skills course that focuses on technique for a variety of scenarios.
As soon as I get a few pics snapped - I'll post em!
