Why would you need remote start?

To heat up the interior on those snowy days?

To precool the interior on hot days?

I can't fathom one really good reason for a remote start on a motorcycle.

Disc lock or a chain lock.

More expensive would be Lojack or the Roadlok system.

FWIW, I wasn't talking down to you as a dumb kid (Didn't know if you were a kid, to be honest. But I suspected it).

Still, I can't fathom one GOOD reason to have remote start.

Tight Bike and Girls is A reason, just not a GOOD one.

If your bike is not fuel injected, the remote start won't work as the choke would need to be set. And you have to make sure the neutral switch is wired to it properly so you won't start in gear. Unless you want to make the girls laugh when your bike takes off without you.

There are no security systems that will stop a determined thief. They can cut cables, chains and locks, pick up the bike and throw it in a truck. Even with an alarm system, most people pay no attention.

A good chain and lock will deter the casual thief., joyrider. If you own a popular model, you will never be certain it won't get taken. The best theft protection is an older, less popular model. The pro thiefs don't want them.

You laugh now, I've seen it happen in person. Bike lurched forward, died, and fell into the ZX-10 next to it. Said ZX-10 had freshly painted plastics put on it the week before. :frusty:
