First let me say hi. New to the forum and hopefully will be an active member. Now down to business. I'm looking to purchase a bike from a local dealer. It's listed and priced ( a little high, according to the guides I've checked, but I suppose that's normal), as a Road Star Silverado. After checking online, I've noticed a rather big difference between the bike I'm looking at and what an actual Silverado looks like. The bike I'm thinking of purchasing does have a windshield, with small lowers, but that's it. No saddle bags, studded seat, to name a few of the obvious differences. I'm wondering if anyone out there might share what info they might have on the subject. I still might purchase the bike, it's in great shape and very low mileage, but i'm not paying Silverado pricing for a Road Star. Is there a difference in the VIN's? Thanks for the help.
The two bikes are basically the same except the Silverado comes with all the mentioned accessories.
Don't understand what you mean by VIN's. Vehicle Identification Numbers are like the bikes fingerprint. The first three numbers are where the unit was manufactured and the tenth digit is the year of the vehicle.
Wasn't sure if the bikes followed the examples as some cars do. Different letter or number in the sequence that designates a special option, model, etc.
