in my experience whenever i've ordered stuff online whether it be motorcycle stuff, cd's, etc from what i see i get charged AFTER they ship the item. i just purchased a suzuki gel seat from 187rideeasy and i got charged a few days later but am now getting the runaround saying it might be on b/order.
i had the original guy i spoke with check with suzuki which he did, and they actually HAD it in stock so i ordered it. now i get a new guy and well.....you know the rest. i have to get the orginal guy on the phone but now that im done ranting the original question still remains. ever get charged before you have the item even shipped to you?

yeah..had it happen more than once.it is usually some typical dufus behind the parts counter that looks it up and the computer says they have it and the lazy bum dont go look to see if it is actually there.then they try to keep your money until they get one to ship to you
actually, i shoulda though more. i have bought alot of stuff at newegg.com over the years and i always get charged before they ship. its these clowns that tell you its on backorder AFTER they charge you is what i dont like.

Yea it happened to me, I ordered an item from JC Whitney, I had to pay a big extra charge for shipping and handling, while I was waiting for the part to come I got a letter from JC Whitney with a check for the total of the part, but they never refunded over $20 shipping and handling, told me that part is outta stock and disscontinued. I called and asked for my shipping and handling charge back cause if there was no part sent then I shouldn't pay it, they told me to get lost, I got stiffed, all I can do now is tell everybody I know that " JC WHITNEY IS A RIPPOFF""

Not refunding a shipping charge for an item they never shipped? Thats just wrong. I would talk to a supervisor.
I've dealt with JCWhitney...they were professional. No company would rightly tell you to 'get lost'. Something fishy about this story, but I would call back and demand a full refund.
PS: Ripoffreport dot com is a great premise, but unfortunately it has just been flooded with people who simply do not understand what they are doing, often do not read their contracts, and complain when they get the bad end of a deal they happily agreed to. Some of the reports are geniune, but too many are ridiculous and it discredits the site.
