I`ve got a 1992 Suzuki GS 500 E. This spring my bike has been hard to get started when it`s cold outside (typically 10 degrees centigrades). I try to push the start button, and sometimes it starts after a little while, and than its no problem, its running perfectly... othertimes it doesn`t start at all.. The starting engine seems to work fine (no strange noises).
I`ve changed oil,oilfilter, airfilter and new spark plugs, but the bike still hate the cold days.
Some "experts" say I have to adjust the vents, other say i should clean my carbs...
Any tip to what i should try first? or other tings it might be?

How many miles on it? When was last valve adjustment?
Tight valves cause loss of compression which cause hard starting.
Isn't the GS air/oil cooled? If it is, that usually means it will be more reluctant to start on cold mornings.
If it runs fine, I doubt the carbs need to be gone into.
Not sure what adjusting the vents means.

CHECK YOUR TIRE PRESSURE REGULARLY!!!

Valves , not vents
Hi.
Sorry about my poor english, i ment valve adjustment, not vent...
The bike has been going for 44500 km, so guess its about 30 000 miles.... I don`t know when the valves was adjusted, but I haven`t done it during the last 4 years so it`s probably about time anyway.
And yes, it`s an air cooled engine..
