Bike Color-Do you care?

  • Quote

#1 Post by Andrew » Thu Jun 08, 2006 2:22 am

So after NothernPete questioned my manhood yesterday for being in the process of buying a RED (not purple) bike, I want to see if anybody else has any stereotypes or opinions about color.

Are there specific colors that tell you something about the person riding? Do you even care about the color of the bike, and how much of a difference does it make in your purchacing decisions?

And would you ever be caught dead driving the pink bike on this page:

I don't think it matters if YOU really like the color... I personally would not ride a purple, pink, or baby blue bike... they just look girly IMO and I do not like those colors :D

My bike was purple when I bought it. A few cans of black nongloss Krylon took care of that.

I probably won't ever ride a purple/pink/light blue bike because they're girly but if someone else want to that fine.

And if it came down to it, i'd just repain it like CNF said.

I don't quite understand the RED being girly though??

If it's a used bike, I personally wouldn't care about the color, I'd just re paint it if it's an issue. If im buying a new bike, im gonna want to get the color I like, within what's available.

As far as the pink bike in the link, I personaly don't like it, but I think it's great that she personalized to what she likes.

i almost didn't buy my pearl white shadow because i wasn't keen on the colour....after seeing how many bikes out there are black, i'm glad i went with the white.

i'd ride pretty much any colour bike....i've been thinking of seeing if i can track down my clan's hunting tartan and getting it painted like that and covering the seat. Don't think i've seen that done yet

Well, at least the person on that bike will be noticed. You can't miss that one...

The top pink bike is a very unisex color. Lots of guys like pink.

The cartoon pink bike is adorable! But a 40 year old woman would look just as silly on it as a 40 year old man.
