Is there a motorcycle/motorcycling book out there that you would say every motorcycle rider (especially a newbie) needs to own? Thanks.

never read them, but on seeing this post i just ordered them both from Amazon.ca...each was about 20bucks so that's pretty cheap and i have heard nothing but good things about those books.

might I suggest taking the book to a copy place like kinkos etc and get a coil binding placed on the book to replace the existing stuff...it appears those books have a nasty history of just falling apart. I'm currently making my way through the first one. Great tips.

What they said. Also, after ingesting those, you may want to read "Total Contol" by Lee Parks[/i]

I'm reading Proficient Motorcycling. Its a really good read. Back when I was lurking around this site, I saw that it was recommended so I purchased it from Amazon. By the way, I got a used book and I'm on page 150 or so with no sign of spine breakdown.

Just finished this one, and it was really good. As a new rider there's plenty of tips and as I get better, I can use the book to develop more skills.

if you're into sport riding, i suggest you try "Sport Riding Techniques" by Nick Ienatsch.
