I'm getting a chain lock to semi-deter thieves. I was wondering what is the best method to lock my bike up if I don't have a pole nearby??

I would say through the rear wheel and spokes but not to sure about that as they may ruin your spokes? I know thats the way I do it on my pedal bike.

im gonna use mine to wrap it around the swingarm then wrap it around a pole.

they can just remove the wheel so it's better to use the swingarm.

If they can remove the wheel they can slide if off the swingarm. And if they have the tools to remove the wheel, they probably have the tools to just cut the chain on you.

sorry thats what I had ment. put the chain through the wheel and whatever else on the bike that isnt easily removed. I just forgot to add that last part lol. maybe go through the rear tire and the engine frame?

Mine goes through the wheel, round the frame and then over the top of the mudguard.

I'd not put it through the wheel but also through the frame, to deter most thieves although as pointed out nothing will stop a detemined, skilled thief.
