I thought I'd start some buzz about retailers who have given good prices and service. This is not meant as an advertising forum but to tell each other about good deals. (maybe we can force prices down with enough will)
List places you've got good deals.
TIRES
ZDENO'S in Kitchener ON
PIPES
MOTORCYCLE ACCESSORIES - King Street, Hamilton ON

If you are going online, Dennis Kirk, CruiserCustomizing and DirectParts seemed to have great deals and I believe they pricematch. I used them when I recently bought new pipes for my cruiser. Good luck.

ebay or DV8 spares (in Nottingham)
Generally, however I tend to go to auto jumbles and sorce cheap 2nd hand parts from there.

I use mostly Bikebandit out of San Diego, occasionally a big Yamaha dealer in PA, and once in a while Dennis Kirk.

great topic.....all I want is a backrest for my Honda 1300 and they want $250 for the piece and another $140 for a bracket that is needed to mount it....WTF....bike accessories are probably the biggest ripoff I have ever experienced in 47 years of buying all sorts of sporting equipment.

Recreational vehicles of all types(bikes, boats, campers, ect...) seem to make dealers think they can charge

. They know you love it enough to spend discretionary income on it, you must be willing to spend every cent of it on marked-up goodies for it

. That's how it seems, anyway....

Chels, you might try Universal Cycle in Calgary - their entire second floor/attic is jammed tight with old bike parts from UJMs they've stripped. Sometimes they'll let you climb right up in there and root around, it's like a bike archaeologists' dream.

I use Dennis Kirk a lot. If you need a battery, batterystuff.com, good prices and free shipping. I get a lot of OEM used parts from members of GWRRA via email, about all these guys have is Gold Wing parts. I dont know how many bikes will interchange but there is several auto parts that will work on the GLs. Timing belts , radiator caps, radiator hoses to mention a few. Avaliable from NAPA auto parts stores. If anyone needs any of this stuff I have the NAPA part #s for all the 4 cyl. Wings. just PM and I'll get them to you.
