Ok so im a first time rider looking to join the motorcycle world...I already registered for my Motorcycle Tranining clases in mid may...i also decided on the type of bike i want, Im looking for a 96+ Suzuki GS500F. But this is where the problem lies.
Im looking to get one of these shortly after my classes but i have no idea where to look for the bike...Ebay has them but they have models im not lookin for or are toooo far away. I would like to test the bike out before i even buy it just to make sure i can flat foot it. Does anybody have any suggestions on where i would look. I was going to look into going to the police auctions and looking for a bike but in the mean time. Does anybody have any recommendations..Im located in the philadelphia region..I can drive out to the place since i do own a car..
Thanx alot

i believe autotrader.com could help you out. i don't know anywhere else specifically for you but you can search that for bikes close to you. it's how i found mine.

Have you tried looking round the dealers? They may have one in and will usually allow you to sit on the bike to see if it feels ok, i.e. you can get you feet on the floor. Just because you look there doesn't mean you have to buy it from them.

You should be able to get some kind of a want ad, classifieds sort of a deal at the local gas station. I find this is the place where you will probably get the best deal since you would be buyning from someone face to face, person to person. The only problem would be that if you wanted a bike right now you might not be able to be too specific with what kind of a bike you want, but it's worth a look see. Good luck.

Try local dealers, newspaper personal adds, cycletrader, and you can refine your search on ebay for # of miles from your postal code.
Also, it is a hard time of year to find a good deal, it seems that everyone wants a bike this time of year so the market value on used bikes go up. At any rate thats how it works where I live.
