I guess this is inspired by me coming upon an Aprilia RSV 1000R today on campus. I was pretty much drooling over it when I found it. Its suprising that a cow-town college like this one would have something like that..

But I guess my question is what are the general consensus on these machines? I never hear them mentioned on the site(despite the 125cc 2strokes that you cant get in the US) Are the only models you can get here 1000cc? Thats all I could find on the website. Anyone have any models by them? I'd like to check them out(despite the fact I know they are most likely VERY expensive) Gorgeous bikes tho.

not sure which models you can get here, but I was at a motorcycle shop ini San Francisco a few months ago, and they were selling several models of Aprilia's. I didnt look too closely at them, I just remember they were really expensive. If I had to guess id say you can probably get more then just the 1000 here..

Maybe someone on this site is from SF and has been to that shop. I cant really remember where it was though...

At the Barber AMA race Aprilia was there with all their bikes that could be legally purchased in the US. There were several, probably 7 or 8. My gf's bro's friend has a Mille R from a few years ago. I think it was about the same price as a Ducati 999.

Anyways, they are sweet, but I prefer the common japanese bikes and the Ducati's more.

Yeah I'm a newer rider so most of their bikes are way too much for me. Looks like they have a 125 but it is apparently expensive to service and not too reliable.

I really love ducatis. If I thought I could handle a Monster 620 Dark, and pay for the insurance I would be seriously considering one

Maybe I'll just go with an SV650

the Mille R is disgusting...easily my second favorite bike right now.

Yeah, "disgusting" is how I'd describe it too

Although as mentioned above, it has had some reliability issues. Right when he bought it he couldn't get it started. But it runs fine now.

Aprilia just makes 1000cc water-cooled v-twin sport bikes - Naked and Faired.

They've also just introduced 450 and 550cc V-Twin Dirtbikes (Tho not sure if selling in the states yet)

They also make 50cc scooters and another range of scooters called the Scarabeo, which has bigger wheels like a motorcycle - Easily one of the most popular scooters here in Italy.

Tech, are you counting the Caponord as a sport bike?

I think they own Moto Guzzi now as well.

Ooops, forgot the Caponord!! (But that's also a water cooled 1000cc v-twin anyway )
