Here's a 7 min interview w/ a dude who's got 600,000 miles on his BMW.

About halfway thru you can see the rear brake pedal - it's worn smooth in a spot. Tellin you guys, old BMW's are the best bike ever made :) (I'm not biased  )

Anyone out there think you'll get 600,000 on your bike, or has the "Throw away" nature of society destroyed us all :?

I'm just hoping new BMWs have the same durability. I don't think I'll ever even get close to 600,000, but I'm expecting a long life.

Dang... 200,000 miles before major internal engine work? That's amazing.

German products: simply designed, overengineered to perfection. 8)

That's pretty cool he's got that many miles. From the sound of it though, I think it's due for a bore and oversized pistons to take care of that piston slap you can hear in the video. Still pretty impressive that's it's lasted that long.

haha

i can just put my bike on the center stand and let it run for a year or so....thats the only way i'll let to 600k miles.

but ya 600k miles is insane.

My Vulcan only has 5 digit spots excluding the white one so basically Kawasaki never intended my bike to be ridden past 99,999. So far I have 27000 on a bike that I only had for 2 years.

That's very cool. I'll be glad if i get 100,000 miles out of my bikes, but i'm sure going to shoot for as high as i can go.
