just recently bought a kx80 2mm overbore with Nicom plating fmf gold series fatty. runs excellent, starts one kick every time. anyways I was readnig the manual and it recommended 10w transmission oil. I was at my local (and only) motorcycle dealer and they had only 75w he said this was ok. is it?

75W oil sounds like gear oil. Not sure what that will do to your clutch plates.... maybe nothing.... maybe smoke 'em.
I used 10w30 car motor oil in 2-strokes for years with no problems. A good option would be the same type oil as that, but with motorcycle specific properties. Like the kind you buy at motorcycle shops.
If the dealer will promise to replace the clutch if burns up with his 75W oil, I'd try it.....

the "W" means "WINTER" not weight! I get soooooooo sick and tired explainning to everybody what that means, lets make it easy, you can use a 10W30, a 10W40, or a SAE30 in ur transmission

I don't recall the word weight anywhere in my post dude...and I think most people should know the first number is low temp viscosity and second is high temp viscosity...I'm just looking for a recomendation on what oil to use for my tranny. I could use a 10w30 motor oil as it is the same viscos as 75w tran oil. but just looking for other opinions.
