Whats up crew?? Just purchased a Ninja 250( Great first bike, followed you guys advice). The problem is im moving into A new apartment complex in less than a month and the ONLY place they had left was upstairs!! Is there an easy way i can get my bike up the stairs and park it inside.. The street outside is NOT safe at all as there are about 2 breakins a week here. This is a college student area so every theif wants to prey on the "rich college kids" if you get my drift. And there isnt really anything solid to attach the bike to outside either so I honestly feel my best place is insid. Please help with any ideas. Thanks a lot!

My sister and her boyfriend are in the same boat. They both have ninja two-fiddies and live in an upstairs apartment. She says it takes them about 45 minutes to get the bikes out when they want to ride. So I hope you're strong

Put yout bike on top of a claymore mine when you park it. Just remember to disable it when you go for a ride.
When I took my bike to school, I parked it in front of my car, then pulled my car and my roommate's car up so there wasn't room to get it out without moving the cars.
I'd recommend getting lowjack.

Ride the bike up the stairs like D-Day did in
Animal House.

Build or buy a hoist or come-along and mount it at the top of the stairs somehow... maybe on a reinforced beam or something. Check out a site like this

then you can just guide the bike up.

Excellent choice in a motorcycle, now where to put it eh?
Are there any single family home with garages in your area? If so, knock and ask if they would rent a spot in their garage (if they look trustworthy) to put your bike. I wouldn't recommend bringing it up and down the stairs (do you have an elevator?) as that wouldn't be good for you or the bike.
Even if you chained it down to the cement they could cut the frame on it, take the rims off, etc. The other thing is to put it in a U-Store place. That's most likely the route I'd go if there is one close to you.
Mike.

Buy 2 pitbulls, chain one to the front tire, and one to the frame every night. Put a sign on the bike that says, "pitbulls are trained to bite anyone that touches the bike and not let go."
I be your bike gets left alone.

Buy the book "Telekenisis for Dummies" at your local Borders Bookstore?

i used to have the same problem. i luckally had a grandmother with extra garage space who lived in town. so i left my bike there for a few weeks until i moved into a house with my own garage. another thing to consider would be a lockable bike cover and an alarm. if the theives cant se what they are stealing its a lot less appealing. but an alarm lets you know theres a problem you also need a gun to take care of the problem (dont kill anyone, but a .22 to the "O Ring" when the coward is runnign away might might make them think twice before coming back)
also check craigs list for rental space. (i think theres a category for storage or soemthing)
