leg guards but no hip guards?

#1 Unread post by ElektraSpitfire »

I've decided that in the summer I'll be just wearing jeans with leg/shin/knee guards under my pants. But I realized that my hips are now left vulnerable, but for some reason hip guards/padding are not as popular or prevalent? I would think that hips are just as vulnerable to injury as legs...so am I missing something here? Thanks for any input!

I guess they fell it is very unlikely that your hip will be directly impacted if you fall of the motorcycle, so they don't put anything there. I'm just guessing though.

If you tumble coming off I think the points were the body strikes the road are

Ankles, knees, hips, shoulders, elbows, wrists and head.

I explained that badly... and can't think of better words to discribe it right now...

My Draggin Jeans Combats don't have hip protection, but my Hein Gericke jeans do.

Hi, I was at a local bike shop the other day, and the salesguy was trying to get me to try on some leather Icon pants. They were pretty cute, but too flashy for me, so I didn't bother. What was interesting, though, was that the salesguy almost forgot to mention the optional hip pads that come with the pants. He says "the girls never wear them anyway, since they add to their hips". Maybe most pants manufacturers think along the same lines, and think their ladies pants won't sell as well if they make our hips look wider.

Check out www.bohnarmor.com They have armor you wear under your pants/jackets/shirts. If you already have knee armor, look at the armored shorts they have. I don't know the reviews on this brand. It's just something I ran across today looking for armored jackets.
