What's up with my wheelies ?

Just changed my gixxer 6 for a K2 gixxer 750. i used my clutch on the 600 to get it up, (stock gearing).

Now i thought my 750 would power wheelie much easier than it does. i dont know if i have my revs right but it just doesnt seem as easy as i thought it would. This may also be a daft and obvious question to some people but should i be able to easily lift it in second gear ??

I only seem to be getting it up in first gear by snapping the throtle back with the roll on off method.

Any pointers or tips or usefull web links would be apreciated.

Thanks

My bike.... :D

try gixxer.com

there aren't many riders that like to do stunts on this forum.

the 750 has more weight, so that is part of why its harder, you need to figure out where your gears have the most low down grunt torque, as thats what will help ya get up with ease, and well, honestly, someitmes you just gotta open the throttle a whole lot, pull up and pray.

im going to go ahead and jump in here. the people on this forum [mostly] are not real big promoters of stunting on public roads. and if your smart enough to not use public roads to pull silly MC tricks, your smart enough to figue it out without someone telling you how to do it. thats why your not gettign much feedback here.

nice bike though.

There's always the standard shove down, then pull up on the bars while revving. This rapidly compresses and depresses the front springs pushing the front up a bit for you.

Here's some info for ya:

pull wheelies and influence people

I wish I could do wheelies... sometimes. But I've seen a couple dozen movies online of people absolutely trashing brand new bikes during failed attempts, and I'm not about to risk my $12,000 bike just to get a thrill.

On a cheap dirtbike? Hell yeah.

You're trying to use way too much power with a 750. Sell that off and go purchase a bicycle. Much cheaper. And you can wheelie ALL the time!
