I live in a gated community and I can't get out without a car in front of me. I guess I don't have enough metal in the bike to trigger the gate. Got any suggestions??

are you sure it's by weight?

im on a gated condo complex and the thing is... there's a certain part that i have to ride over to get the sensor to notice my bike. so i don't need to push the remote going out. going in though, of course i still have to push the remote.

You might need that thing that helps with red lights. Some places have sensors in the ground and if it doesn't sense a car, the light stays red. They make a product just for that scenerio. I'll try and find it for you.

I bet that works as well as those magnetic cancer removing bracelets some people wear.

Not enough room to go around it? That bites.

Someone else told me to get a magnet and put it under the bike. Does that work also?

The sensor in the road is basically a large inductive loop. Understanding how it works, might make it easier for you to figure out how to make it trigger when you go over it. Below is a link to one of many explanations on the web.

If there is a loop in your driveway, stop so that your bike covers as much of the line as possible. A friend of mine triggers them with her bicycle doing that...
