Pennsylvania Vehicle Code: TITLE 75, Paragraph 3112, Inoperative or Malfuctioning Signal.,,, Red or completly unlighted signal shall stop in the same manner as at a stop sign. Soooooooo if the red signal don't trip properly thats a malfuctioning signal and you can proceed either a right or a left turn after you stopped first.

and if the police catch you, your still getting a ticket.
TN has a similar law that if you waited 3 minutes and the light has not tripped you can run it but i know police still ticket if they see this (you have to talk to the judge about it when you go to court) and if you get hit-its your fault so yo can be cited for that as well [if theres enough of you left to cite].

What I did is I printed out a copy of The PA Vehicle Code Title 75, and stuffed it in my saddlebags next to the registration and the insurance card, so if i do get stopped for a violation I can show this copy to the Officer Of The Law. A Red light thats not adusted properly is a malfuctioning signal.

This is driving me crazy. There is one light in the city that uses this little camera mounted on the light to trigger them, and it works fine for bikes. Every single other one is screwed though, not registering me on my bike.
I was at one yesterday in fact, where I could actually see the metal outline of the sensor. It wasn't a really busy intersection, and it was to cross the highway. Just for kicks I wanted to see how long I'd sit there. A few minutes went by and nothing... then I put the sidestand down right on the little bit of bare metal showing, waited a few more minutes... nothing.
It was about 5-6 minutes later that a minivan showed up on the other side of the intersection coming towards me, and the light changed within 10 seconds of him stopping there.
I've run more red lights in the last 4 days than I can remember.

I'm totally going through Moto's saddlebags if the insruance and registration are in there.
At least hide it somewhere you can lock it. I know the seat lifts off your bike using the key, keep it there, if not on your person.

Understandable though. Unless the cop has been sitting there the whole time watching you, they have no way of knowing how long you waited.
There's one light I get stuck at occasionally and I make sure to let it cycle through twice and even then check for cops before I go.

first, its not malfuctioning, bikes dont set off the coils that trigger the signs, the sign isnt busted, our bikes just dont do it, there are ways to fix em to trigger em, also. if i can go right, and left, why cant i go straight?

I picked up a GREAT accessory for my bike, its called the "Green Light Trigger" and its a high powered earth magnet that you mount under your bike. This magnet (about the size of a domino) disrupts the magnetic field generated by the coil embedded in the pavement and it will detect your bike just like it detects a car. I rode out to an industrial park with my brother late one sunday evening where there was NO traffic to test it out and it works awesome! I got one for my brother and neither one of us can remember getting stuck in traffic since installing them. I originally discovered them on eBay, but I thought it was a scam and was scared to bid on them. I saw them on another site that I was purchasing some other accessories and thought it must be legit if they are selling them there. There are a couple other brands, and I'm sure they all work the same, and you can try googling "green light trigger" if anyone is interested.
