Kickstart Battery Question

#1 Unread post by amodoko »

Hi guys, I had a question regarding a battery to a kickstart ('81 Suzuki GN 400). I found out that the bike doesn't need a battery to run (although you should have a battery of course so the generator doesn't burn out trying to power everything) but how would I know if my battery was going weak or even dead? The previous owner told me the battery does not run any lights so I don't really know how I know when the battery would be dead or weak. I know with the key on, and the bike off, the only lights I can get are the tail light and the dash lights. Thanks for any advice in advance.
