It's a moot point for me since I already have the EX-500, but I am interested to know which bike is generally considered better or at least more powerful/faster.

I see very few reviews of the GS but a couple more of the EX.

I gotta say as far as bang for the buck goes, it would be hard to beat my Ninja as it cremates just about anything on four wheels but gets great mileage and didn't cost me a whole lot, and because it's so inexpensive you can toss it around with impunity.

P.S. i don't know jack about the GS

the ninja is a bit faster.

Summary, the only thing the Suzuki has over the Kawasaki is styling. And even that is subjective.

The ex500 may out perform the gs, but that definatly doesn't mean you should count out the gs if you are looking for a first or even second bike.

With an upgrade to progressive springs, the gs would probably out handle the ex. I believe yo can even fit a katana 600 rear shock on one. (i think)

I have yet to scrape a peg, but I have come damn close without any stability issues. And thats on stock suspension.

The power, as we all know, will easily outpull most any car on the road without a problem. I don't know how it compares to the ex becuase I never rode one. But I have picked the front wheel up a few times under some spirited accelaration.

As far as looks go, I think the ex500 is a tad fugly. But then again I don't like the gs500f either. I prefer the gs500e.

After reading that article I'm pretty damn happy with my choice of ride.

I'll probably keep this thing through the whole summer.
