Idle Adjustment

#1 Unread post by RegalSwan »

My '82 Maxim 650 seems to be running lean. It doesnt have as much power at idle as it use to and I will have to give it some throttle sometimes even when lettnig the clutch out really slow. Also as it warms up the idle revs seem a little high. I just had the carbs cleaned and a few other problems fixed about 3 months ago and this just seems to be something that has slowly happened over time. I was hoping to find a fuel mixture and or idle adjustment screw in my Haynes manual but if it is in there it isnt obvious. Am I on the right track as far as the problem? Do I need to look through the haynes manual again, or can someone here help me out?

P.S. Could this just be a little crud in the fuel line? and can i use some fuel system cleaner to take care of this?

If I remember right, there is an adjustment screw. It is kind of under the carbs and in between the two middle carbs. Hope you can find it.
