Steering Damper

Posted this question before in another section, didn't get any responses

What does a steering damper actually do??

It controls the side-to-side occilations of the handlebars during periods when the traction of the front tire is fighting the combined and opposing forces of chassis trail and centrifical pressure from a corner.

If your bars are not shaking violenty, or you don't have bad 'head shake', you don't need a steering damper.

.....and I just thought that it dampened the steering.... :mrgreen:
