I have an 05 ninja ex 500. It's blue and has 8000 miles on it. The bike is in perfect condition. It has been broken in well and has nevre been in an accident. I think the lowest i should go is 3600 dollars for it. Should i accept lower? Someone told me it is not worth retail over $3100. However trade in is $2500. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I am in Charlotte NC.

one MILLION dollars!
No really. There is
http://www.nada.com and also
http://www.kbb.com for all your pricing needs - they even use your zip code to determine a price for your area.
Have fun!

I'll give you $200 cash and I'll be at your house this weekend.

Heck, he'll even throw in some paint balls and... an axle off his pickup truck.
Check the local classifieds... NADA and such are often very wrong for a particular area.

Pinning a value on a bike can be difficult. If it's priced lower than similar bikes in your area, it'll sell quickly. If it's higher, you may have to wait around for the right buyer, if you don't want to reduce the price. It's a personal choice.
That said, $3600 doesn't sound unreasonable for a year old EX500 with 8K miles. In my area, KBB average retail is over $4,100.
EX500s (like EX250s) are very popular bikes. I would think that a relatively new one, in good condition, wouldn't stay on the market for long at $3,600, unless you live in the middle of nowhere where there is only a small demand for bikes.
Good luck!
