Swift Motorcycle Issues

Have you had any problems with your Swift Motorcycle?

I bought a 2004 Swift Tormentor and I have had nothing but problems with it. It's been in the shop many, many times (electrical problems, parts falling off, defective parts etc) This is a brand new $30,000 motorcycle that breaks down constantly!!

I am trying to get Swift to refund my money under the Lemon Law and I am looking for other people that have had problems with their Swift motorcycles.

Send me an email. Has anyone else filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of Phoenix? (Swift is based in Arizona) complaints@phoenix.bbb.org or the Phoenix Attorney General? ag.inquiries@ag.state.az.us If you haven't yet, make sure that you do!!

I have heard many people saying they have had their Swift Mortorcycle in repair shops 15-20 times after only having it about a year or so.

Did you know that some Harley Davidson dealerships not only will not work on a Swift Motorcycle, but they won't take them in as a trade either.

Swift feels that as long as they replace the "warranty" parts, I should not have anything to complain about. How about the months worth of cummulative time my bike spends in a repair shop?? It broke down at 4 am and had to get it towed...$150 for the tow and Swift said that was MY problem. In two years Swift has never apologized to me for any inconvience my purchase may have caused me. They just claim they are doing "everything they can" to resolve the problem. :frusty:

I wish I never bought the damn thing. Please let me know how your's is doing. We need to band together against Swift and alert people of the problems we have had with Swift Motorcycles!!

I'm sorry you're having so many problems with your bike, but it is, after all, a Swift

TORMENTOR

I guess you're the one being tormented by it.

That's understandable, since it's not a Harley-Davidson....

My insurance covers towing - for free. Maybe you should look into that. Also - Since when is a 2004 model "NEW?"

May I let you in on a little secret? There is no such thing as a SWIFT MOTORCYCLE. It's a bunch of AFTERMARKET PARTS BOLTED TO A CUSTOM FRAME. Someone said - Hey! People who can't modify their own motorcycle will pay silly money for a "Custom Bike"

So, Let me apologize. I'm sorry you fell for it.

No one on this forum owns a "Swift". Their name must describe their clientele.

Ciao.

Sorry to hear your having such problems. Personally, I'd think twice about buying a motorcycle from a company that has models called "Tormentor" and "Punisher".

I'm not that surprised to hear that these bikes have problems. It's a motorcycle built by a trucking company (Swift Transportation). Jerry Moyes, the (recently fired) CEO of Swift Transportation is notorious in AZ for his questionable business practicess. The Attorney General's office knows him well. I doubt you'll get a satifactory response from the company. All I can do is wish you good luck.

Honda--Kawasaki--Suzuki--Yamaha.
i believe the Swift model line is primarily composed of Trailer Queens.

Which reminds me, does Kawasaki still have the Eliminator? :P

i dont get it, it says this on thier web site:

"At Swift, our drive for quality is second to none. We prove it by using only the best components, parts and material and by offering the longest warranty in the industry. We back it by our incredible customer and dealer support. "

You'll hear all kinds of marketing jargon now-days. I find it appalling that anyone would dish out $30k for a custom without doing heavy research at the company's history and customer feedback.

Better Business is simply going to just chalk up another one with your complaint. I don't think your chances of getting your money back are good. If you do, it'll take years for them to sort out how much and whom they will refund. Shady companies prefer to just file bankruptcy and move on to their next shady agenda.

Get it running well enough to seem great on a test ride, and find another sucker to take it, errrrr, sell it to another fan of Swift motorcycles.
