Petcock problem.

Ok, so my bike has been sitting for a good while without a tank because of this stupid petcock problem. It seems so basic that you would think its an easy fix. But anyways, My petcock seems to stay on. I bought a repair kit (1988 Yamaha FZ600) and replaced it, but it still wont shut off. Any ideas here? Do I have it backwards or can it even go backwards? I don't really know what else to do besides taking it to a motorcycle shop and see if the guy will be generous enough to just help me out real fast. Thought I would check here first though. Thanks.

replace the rubbers inside it? I had a leaky petcock and all it took was a 3 dollar aprt and 5 minutes of work.

Rubbers are definitely good for a leaking pet stick.

if you have a leaky pet stick it's probably because you didn't have the rubbers on to begin with

crazy kids and their crazy... vd
