Hey LA people -- where can I find a large open parking lot that is mostly empty on weekends? Ideally close to Burbank.

not knowing your area, i would suggest an industrial park. shopping malls and things of that nature are usually stupidly busy on weekends, but places like a manufacturing shop that doesn't do weekend shifts would be the place to look for since noone goes there unless they have to work

We can ride in REALLY big circles at 30mph for 20 minutes.

It's practise, for when you get stuck in a traffic circle.

that's not all i practice though.

i practice hard braking and swerving too on that parking lot.

the turning practice is just the most fun of the drills i practice. w/ it, i practice throttle control, looking, body positioning, etc.

i do feel though that i need to have turning markers so that my turns become more consistent.

Don't forget to add lock to lock figure 8's, S-turns, and the like to your practice regime.

Improving your low-speed skills are just as important as the high speed stuff. It's kind of like T'ai Chi: by performing the exercises as slowly as possible, the proper form becomes ingrained and you perform better when the pace is stepped up.

That, and you'll clip fewer mirrors
