Return to the Himalayas

With family trip to Manali cancelled, I knew I had to escape the hustle and bustle of city and head to hills. After all it had been over seven months since I last visited Himalayas.

After getting the chain and sprocket changed my bike was ready for action. On Saturday evening I gave a call to Salil that I will be leaving on Sunday morning, but little did I know what was about to happen. Couple of hours later, Salil called me up, telling me that he will be joining in as well! Well that’s typical of Salil, always ready for action, especially when it involves hills.

ImageWhen ever I come across a small village in Himalayas, I always wonder how wonderful it would be to live in such a beautiful place. Maybe one day my dream will come true and I will settle down in a place like this.
I often think the same thing when I go through small rural towns in out of the way places, but then realize that if I lived there, I likely would not be able to afford to travel as much as I do, at least living in a more densely populated area, I am able to earn enough to travel and enjoy many different areas.

Quite true Kevin, but when we imagine that we also imagine that we won’t be working ;). Sort of extended trip that would last a lifetime, that’s what dreams are for :D
