"Now, speaking of living with it...sometimes a Gear Box will loose a gear... bang, it's gone. Now, you can run through all the gears, everything sounds OK, but one of the gears is just not there anymore. Can you ignore it and just drive on ? I think you can. Yes, there is always the risk that whatever broke could get jammed in other parts of the Gear Box, locking everything up and doing alot of damage. Do you want to risk it ? I think the odds are good that you will not have any problems, except your missing a gear."

and just tell me what to do. Right!I think what I am going to do is see if my little brother will sell me his 83 magna really cheap ( pulleeze, fall on knees begging here
) and turn my nighthawk into a winter restore project.So long winded yada yada later. Ignore(except for draining oil and removing metal parts
), winter restore or sell for parts.
