okay, so cagers do alot of cr@p that "pee" me off on the road.....i.e

----you don't really need to read the following, if you're lazy like i am, you can just skip to the end.

i was going today 40-50mph on a small street, behind a high school (summer-school time), with alot of parked cars...i know, stupid.....but anyway, there is this blue truck right in the middle of the road....

so without slowing down, i go to pass him on the left...note that there are no cars driving in the opposite diretion...

so right when i get to the side of the car, i see his front wheels turn and i see the car coming towards me from the right, and he is like 2 inches away from hitting me.....so i'm like ohhhh crap..

...btw, i had no gear on except for helmet....i had just dropped off my jacket at the cleaners.

anyway, i don't know how, but my right foot automatically started pushing the rear brake pedal....the rear wheel locks and starts moving to the left....which i THINK saved the bike from hitting the car....then the rear wheel popped back in place and i slowed down with the front brake and turned around..

anyway, thank god the rear wheel locked.

lets assume that a cager pissed you off like that which i'm sure has happened to alot of you in alot of times......

.what would you do?
would you pull up to them at fight em?

i myself, have wanted to beat the sh*t out of them sooooo many times....but instead, i just follow them for a really long time and make sure that they know i'm following them....it usually scares the cr@p out of them.

but ya, i wanna hear some opinions....what are some things that you guys do?

I probably would have simply stopped, without turning around shake my head in an exaggerated fashion, and let them see the full metal jacket draped over various places on the bike along with my gatlin gun exhaust, pee on the ex-wife sticker, 3 11-inch aluminum blade spikes, medieval side cover, and "dr. evil" license plate just so they know that they shouldn't p*** me off.

When I was younger I would probably want to start a fight. Being more mature now I would avoid that & deliver a few choice words instead.

being that I take Shaolin Kung Fu I was beaten by my teacher for being so hot headed. Ever since then I was told only to use my power when there is no other choice.

Whenever I get mad about these things I take my anger out on sparring buddies or playing games that involve shooting people like Call of Duty 2.

Anyhow at least no damage done but I have to admit there were a few times I used the fist, and I keep a crow bar hidden on the side under the saddle bags.

Be careful, guns can be more common than you think.
Again it IS hard to forgive these freakers.

damn, i sold my 360 w/ call of duty just last week....

and its not just this one idiot....its happened sooooo many time that its ridiculous.

another time....i'm going on the freeway in the middle of the lane....and this white car driving on my left lane right next to me just starts coming into my lane...i'm like WTF!

here is what i think, if we keep letting em get away with this stuff, then they will NEVER stop.....we gotta teach em a lesson

Take down the license plate number and take them to court for attempted vehicular manslaughter. (Works best if you have a cop or lawyer for a friend )

That'll stop them (Maybe)

Might be going a little fast there, buddy. The speed limit on inner-city residential streets and roads is usually 30mph. Slow down.

As long as we're assuming: Let's assume you weren't going 40-50mph on a residential street. That alone would have spared you a close call. Let's assume that you fully expect cagers to do dumb sh*t all the time...with that mindset you would be well-armed and little would surprise you.

Sure, sure...you're going to pull up, get off your bike and fight. Way to go. Keep it on two wheels and keep it movin'. Let it go. Move on. I got places to go...

You are asking for a special invitation to get run off the road. If it happens...guess who loses? Unless you're licensed to carry, why would you follow unknown individuals? That's an invitation to get a cap in your own @$$. If you ARE licensed to carry, one would think you could exercise better judgement all around so as not to 'create' a situation.

I'm confused by the story. Are you sure the guy was trying to hit you? Sounds like you were racing down a residential street (next to a school no less!), came up behind a truck, passed him by merging into the oncoming lane without slowing down as he began to make a left turn and he almost hit you.

We all deal with road rage and inattentive drivers on a daily basis but...

1) You should be driving 20mph in a school zone, or 25/30 as the signs indicate.

2) You should have slowed to a near stop behind the truck to assertain his situation.

3) You should have put on your blinker and passed him at a reasonable speed, assuming based on the stripes on the road it is a passing zone (many school zones I see around here are non-passing zones), OR honked your horn to get his attention and make him move and park his vehicle in a designated pick-up zone.

Why was the truck stopped on the road in front of a school? Sorry but my FIRST instinct would be to slow WAY down and keep my eyes peeled for a little kid darting out between the cars heading to the truck.

And no, I would not have 'picked a fight' with him, because any attempt on his part to assault me (vehicle or otherwise) is not a green light to then turn around and initiate an assault against him. Unlike on the TV shows, starting fights will land in you jail and you will probably see charges, be sued, etc.

I'm wondering why you think it was the cager's fault? You never even bothered to slow down when passing him. If he was in the middle of the road, I would have automatically assumed that he could start moving again at any time.

Getting pissed off isn't going to help either. Just get yourself out of the situation safely and be on your way.

I'm with Kim on this one. I would be more upset with myself, since I should know enough to slow down for unusual situations in the road. I wouldn't peel past the vehicle doing 50 on a small street with parked cars.

Now... if a cager really is at fault for some pinhead maneuver, I may bring some attention to his/her mistake, and then I get as far away from them as possible. There is way too much road rage out there for me to put my life at risk. Having a tough looking bike won't help me out if the cager decides to wipe me off the road. It wouldn't take much. In my younger days I have been known to follow people around and harass them with my cage, but that was a long time ago. People are too unpredictable these days, and my number-one concern is getting home safely to my family.
