Who says bike cops don't wave??

I've read before that bike cops don't normally wave. Well since I'm a newb, I wave at anything on two wheels. I've passed a few bike cops now and they've all waved or waved back! Twice there were not even on their bikes, just stopped on the side of the road pulling people over. I cruise by going a few miles over the speed limit and give the two finger wave and they return the gesture. Hell a bike cop passed me going 15 over the speed limit (I was cruising at 5 over) and before he passes me, I drop my hand to wave and he waves back as he passes me.
Maybe we've got nicer bike cops in Virginia???

The few CHP that I waved at didn't wave back.
Actually brings up another question. A lot of times when I'm in my cage I wave at bikes. A lot of tiems they don't wave back. Does anyone else do this?

I don't really pay to much attention to the people in the cars that I'm passing. So if you waved at me chances are I didn't register it.

I've never tried to wave at a biker when in my truck. I'll give it a try and see what happens

Maybe it depends on where you are & how many bike cops there are. In my town theres 1 or 2 bike cops and I see them all the time. They always wave when I'm riding and they wave first.

I sometimes have at, and have cops wave back at me.
I've tried waving at bikes while in a car, and I don't think they even noticed. i don't blame them, I don't think I'd notice if a cager waved at me while i was on my bike.

I used to wave at bikes in my Jeep and never got waved back.
Now that I'm riding again, I only look at cagers that may/could kill me and focus on waves from the bikes passing me.
If a cager waved at me, 90% chance I wouldn't notice it.
If a passing bike doesn't wave, 90% chance I will notice that.
Just not in the club when driving the cage.

Riding past the police station in Mt. Holly (town next to Lumberton) last night, Mrs. Stark leading on the Trophy. Motor officer (I didn't even know Mt. Holly had any..) pulls out just ahead of us, Mrs. Stark waves, gets a big smile and wave in return. I'm following on the Bonnie, I get a wave too. This is a low-speed encounter with a local officer on the main drag of a small town on a warm summer evening, probably a little different for a state trooper out on the highways.
