well, the bike is dead

What can I say? Just when you think everything's going ok, something like this happens. I went to the rosebowl on saturday. I went into a left turn and dropped my bike. Now * think* I can judge the cornering speed by now, so most likely I slipped on some debris (there was lots of little bits and pieces and other crap in the parking lot -- I guess they just never bother to clean it). I wasn't going very fast so I thought the damage would be pretty minor. Yet somehow I managed to break off the gear shifter and grind away the tip of the frame slider.
Now here is the *big* damage. The chain came off the rear sproket and jammed. The engine ran for a few seconds, then stopped. Some oil leaked out while the bike was down. Now the gear shifter is jammed and when I press the clutch nothing happens. I had a closer look today. The clutch push rod is bent and broken (so the leaver doesn't slide it in). I can't even begin to imagine what else is bent, broken, or jammed inside the engine. Yeah, I'm feeling like crap right now. Have a good 4th everyone!
