Thursday, 14th April, 2005

In an announcement today the Quad Riders Club of Victoria revealed their plans to run Fourteen ATV MX race classes for season 2006.

The growth of quad riding, in not just Victoria, but Australia in general, has been staggering and continues to follow trends set around the world and indeed invent some new ones such as the Jumbo Junior class, which has taken off in Victoria.

"We are excited about the future of ATV racing in this state and these added classes will just help the sport to grow even more", said QRCV's Mark Beechey.

"They will all be included in the all new 2006 Yamaha State 8 Quad MX Championships and the classes are as follows: Pro, Experts, Clubman, Women A, Women B, Senior production, Junior 300 (200 two stroke-300 four stroke), Junior production 300, Junior 110 (90cc two stroke-110 four stroke) Junior 110 production, Junior 50 (must be production) Jumbo Junior 110 (90cc two stroke-110 four stroke) Jumbo Junior 110 production, 500cc & above"

"There will be added bonuses for several classes including the introduction of prize money for some senior classes and various sponsor awards for others. We have already locked in at least six rounds and these will be run as a Quad only race day, which is a first for this country in any quad series to date".

"Again the format will be ten rounds with all competitors having to drop two rounds as the series travels across the State. There will also be a two-day quad race weekend at Rokewood near Ballarat in Victoria's west where the local community will combine a Championship round with their local area country music festival. The Rokewood promoters have run Rodeos and music festivals before and have shown a special interest in having the quads along to highlight their programme". Beechey concluded.

Well before the glove are hung out from season 2005 and already there is much promised and exciting events planned for Victorian quad racers.
