Draggin Jeans

I'm looking for an alternative to my leather riding pants for those times when I'm running errands and don't want the bulk of leather. I've investigated Draggin Jeans, and while they meet the requirements I have (see below), they're expensive and I don't really have a way of trying them on before I lay down the cash. Does anyone have comments about Draggin Jeans, or perhaps some alternatives? My requirements are as follows:

1. Durable
2. More protective than regular jeans (i.e. Kevlar bum, like Draggin)
3. Look good - could wear to a CASUAL dinner out
4. Fit small sizes
5. Available in Canada, or can be shipped here.

Thanks everyone!

I got me some draggin jeans, and they seems like normal jeans to me, but with extra little tissue on your knee.

I wasnt very happy about it, expecting it to have more protection than extra material on the knee. But other than that - it look like regular thing.

From my experience - if you don't want to buy $100 jeans - don't get them. Get normal piece of gear.

I've got a pair of Icon jeans that I really like, I'm planning on getting a couple more pairs in the near future.

Damn biking for being so fun and costing so much.

Do either of those come with long inseams...I'm talking 36'' or more. I've been having a hell of a time finding some good riding pants.

Hey Muse, you're in Calgary right? They sell them in Calgary and I even considered going there sometime to check out a pair. (I know cause I called there and they had lots in stock). Anyhow, I purchased a pair of Icon jeans that I quite like so haven't bothered making the trip to Calgary.

They sell them at:

Wow, thanks KarateChick! I'm going to have to go down there and take a look. I really want to be able to try them on. Were they ICON ones like the ones you eventually bought, or were they Draggin brand?

Do the Icon ones have extra protection in the bum, or just the knees? What do you like about your Icon jeans?

Earwig and Sevulturus:

What do you like about the Icon jeans? Earwig, what do you NOT like about the Draggin jeans? What makes the Icon ones better, in your opinion?

Hey Muse,

Calgary store I mentioned has the Draggin Jeans.

The Icon jeans are very comfy and fit nice like regular jeans. I had to order in a size 5 - there was a size 9 I tried on in the store so the sales person helped me figure out what size I needed based on that. There's knee and hip protection but none in the butt like the Draggin brand...however, I quite like them so haven't made the trip to Calgary. (In fact, they ordered in 2 pairs in my size and the other pair - black, I got blue - is still there......hmmmmm....very tempting, and cost was $90 total)
