Happy bike day to me!

Well i did it.

I had wanted to buy a brand new M50 after taking my MSF. I finaly talked myself into getting a used GZ250 to learn on and i know if i drop it i will not feel so bad.

It's a 2002 with 1500 miles. It's in perfect condition and i got the guy down to
$1800 bucks.

I know its not much of an engine but i am just so happy to have a motorcycle at long last. It drives fantastic , I knew how it would handle as i took my MSF on a GZ250.

I did prefer it over the Rebel 250 as the rebel felt a little cramped. My wife says she would be happy to ride it next year when i get a bigger bike.

Tomorrow i have to go to the DMV to get a plate and title in my name.

Anyone from Wisconsin? I didn't realize the owner would keep the plate. Will they give me a temp plate at the WI DMV tomorrow?

Looks like its $45 for the title and do you know how much for the plate? is it $12?

Anyway i am stoked . :D

Yes Verm, I know it isn't much but it was that or nothing untill next year.

And i just got 12 months insurance for 178 and that was the top coverage. Lower coverage would of cost 121 but i didnt want risk it.

what made you switch to the cruiser line? that's the only thing available to you?

nothing wrong w/ cruisers, just not my thing ...that's all i meant about the GZ250. i wish i was put on a nighthawk instead on the BRC.

sport bikes were just way too expensive on insurance for me.

Congrats... I rode one in my MSF and it's a fun bike. Get out there and rack up some miles! :) That's what the 250s are great for... you can just ride and ride and ride some more without spending a lot of bux on bike, gas, or maintenance. They are also unintimidating to wrench on so you can learn about bikes if that's your thing.

In any case have fun.

wow Jon, congratz.

you've been wanting a whole bunch of different bikes and didn't really want to buy one that you would have to trade up later, but i think this is a very wise decision, and if you hand it down to your wife next year she will be happy with it while you get a more "dream" machine

now i seem to be missing one thing though....

where are the pics?
