Which Cruise (not a harley) for a Tall person

Truthfully, I can't afford a Harley so am looking for a cruiser that works for 6' 5", long legs. I have sat on several bikes but would like to know which ones I should be really looking at. The problem is my knees hit the handle bars with turning. I need to get my knees out of the way. Can the handle bars on bikes be turned up or should I pay for the forward controls?????
thanks,

Yeah...what Verm just said. That thing is a beast. If it's still not getting your knees out of the way, save some dough for some forward controls. I seriously think that the Suzuki M109R will do it.

Someone I know had his controls simply moved forward to allow for more leg room. Less expensive than purchasing new forward controls.
Maybe some mini ape bars and some risers would help with giving you more knee room. There are quite a few options as far as handlebars go so that you may not have to have stock ones.

The Vulcan 1500 gives lots of room too.....for that matter the 900 vulcan looks pretty rooomy as well.

Jesus, Verm. With those ape hangers, he could stand on the seat and have a hard time reaching the throttle.

Big HP numbers do not automatically mean big ergos. Sitting on an M109R feels very much like sitting on a stock Mean Streak. Most big bore cruisers are set up for the average guy and, therefore, pretty much all of them will need to be fitted with aftermarket forward controls to accomodate taller riders.
Buy whatever bike speaks to you, kjango, just be sure to factor in about $450.00 for a good set of forward controls (I like Jardine).

cruisers with pegs tend to have the controls more forward than cruisers with floorboards. Power cruisers like the M109 and mean streak being the exception.
check out the honda VTX1300C (the C model has its controls pretty far forward). also check out the V star 1100 custom, shadow sabre and shadow spirit. if none of these work I would look into aftermarket forward controls for whatever you happen to get.
the bikes I have sat on that had the longest reach to the pegs have all been HDs. Both the softtail and the V-Rod have considerable reach to the pegs, as does the sportster 1200 Custom.
