this is the camera i take w/ me whenever i ride...

Sony Cybershot 5 megapixel
Image

it's small enough to fit in between my gauges and my windscreen. even w/ the carrying case, it still fits ok.

now my question is... what can i use to secure it? any ideas or is this a dumb idea?

the camera is around $400 so i really want it secured enough but at the same time, i can remove it easliy enough after the ride.

thoughts, suggestion?

it should have some sort of tripod mount. Find the right screw size/type(DONT FORCE ANYTHING) and then you can make some sort of mounting bracket probably.

Tripod screws are 1/4"-20 (20/inch thread pitch)...you can buy 1/4"-20 screws/bolts at any hardware store.

I'd bet that camera doesn't have a tripod mount though. Leme check... it's a DSC-T1... no tripod mount. :(

i am assuming you mean for taking vid/pics while you ride. that camera should have a place you can attach a tripod head to the bottom with a little bolt (was looking at the DSCW1)..not sure how much room you have in there so not sure how useful that would be.

I ziptied mine to the brake resevior, but the pics will come out really fuzzy due to the vibrations.

do a google search for motorcycle camera mount or something... if you want to build something yourself put a peice of rubber between the mount and your bike to cut down on the vibrations.
