yeah, but it's still an SV deep inside even w/ all the upgrades...
look, it still only has 82hp. im sure it handles great though w/ the öhlins suspension.

It goes faster in straightaways...yippie.
They are two different bikes made for two different purposes, and they race in two different classes (since we're talking about a race bike).
My friend had a good point as to why he likes riding cheaper bikes. Which would you rather ride hard, your $35,000 bike that's ridiculously expensive to repair and hard to find parts for or a $6,500 bike that has parts everywhere and is cheaper. I'd rather have an SV simply because I wouldn't be worrying so much about it!
Don't get me wrong, a 999R is a beautiful bike and I'd love to own one, but for practical purposes I think I'd get much more joy out of riding an SV.
And for the record I think all mama's need one!

um, the 999r is a litre bike, the 650 is a little more than half that. do all this to a sv1000 and the 999r doesnt look so much better anymore.
besides, the wheels, tank, all that are all the same on this.
