Hey all, new rider from Missouri here.

Hey all, just found these forums the other day and joined yesterday. I'm 19 and from Missouri (live in KC, go to college in Rolla). About a year ago I bought a 1984 Honda Shadow 700 (stupid impulsive buy), got it fixed up and got to learn the very basics and ride it around a little bit before the engine burnt up and I gave up on it.
Then about 3 weeks ago I bought a 2002 Suzuki Bandit 600S. It came with a Joe Rocket riding jacket and I've since bought myself some gloves and am using a full face helmet w/o a face shield (I wear sunglasses with it as eye protection) that I got from a friend. I'm hoping to get myself a new helmet as soon as possible (gotta save up my money to afford one, I spent it all on the bike).
I'm taking the MSF BRC in about a week, can't wait. Till then I've been riding on some of the low-traffic country roads and such near my house.
Anyways, I look forward to learning from the community here. Here's a pic of my bike in my garage a few nights after I got it:
