Best way to pick up a bike?

#1 Unread post by slumps »

Hey guys, im taking my msf course this weekend, and im gonna be buying a ninja 250, but its about a 3 hour drive one way and i wont feel confident yet to drive on the highway, so what is the best way to transport it? This is a stupid way, but will it be able to fit into the back of a van at all?

if you have a hitch on your vehicle you can always rent a motorcycle trailer from u-haul. it would only run you about 25 dollars.

Rent a trailer, have the dealer deliver it or have a friend ride it home.

trailer or deliver.

you don't wanna have something bad happen while you don't have insurance yet, be it either being pulled over by cops or getting into an accident even if it's not your fault.

Yeah, I'd get a trailer and some straps to tie down your bike

Previous owner delivered mine. I tipped her $20 for bringing it. She had a friend pick her up. I am glad I bought a good old bike, I have dropped it twice at 0 mph and caused no real damage. I bent the shifter back. I wanted some abandoned parking lot experience before entering traffic. There happens to be a school by my house with an empty lot in the summer. Be prepared to have a blast, just take it slow.
