Anybody out there know a good way to repair the seat on an old honda cx500 (has the double bucket seat style)?

It has a couple of pretty good rips in the back area and it looks super cheesy....I just dont have the cash to pay 100 bucks to some place like jc whitney for a replacement....any ideas welcome!

Thanks in advance!

Four words : color matched duct tape.

If you're riding on a budget, it's great stuff. If you do a neat job, it's hard to tell that the tape is there.

Depending on the material, go to an auto parts store and pick up a seat/dash vinyl or leather repair kit or something of the sort. You can probably math the color and patch the hole.

Ah good suggestions....Ill have to check it out....I should have mentioned that the tear in the seat is roughly the size of an adult hand/fist, (Guess its more of a gaping hole, instead of a tear hehe) Do you think that I can still fix this?

Some guys at ridersofvision.net used stretch vinyl and a staple gun to make a decent seat cover.

I used a chunk of vinyl cut it to the shape of the hole in my seat cover tucked it under and used some gorilla glue
