FF Special Edition

I've been peaking in from time to time to read through this forum. I just ordered the '07 Ultra Firefighter Special Edition. I'm quite glad I waited (dragged my feet) throughout last year. A bigger motor and an extra gear for little extra money isn't a bad payoff. I'm looking forward to its arrival. It should be arriving in the shop in about 3 weeks. (I'm in the Oklahoma City area.)
Also, I got a call from a dealership in Texas who said he's got an '07 Ultra FF Edition sitting in his showroom as it just arrived. So, it won't be long now. I believe I got the best deal I could; travel or no travel; when it was all said and done. I'm fortunate to live in an area where we've got at least one dealerhip willing to pass along those factory discounts onto its customers/firefighters.
Anyway, this is my first post. I just wanted to slip my foot in the door and say hello. "HELLO!"
Peace,
Timba

Timba!
The 2007 Harley-Davidson Ultra Firefighter Special Edition is a nice model. Did you have to show proof of being a firefighter to purchase one or..?
When you get it, don't forget to post photos of your new bike!
Welcome to the forums, I know you'll really like it here, lots of great friendly members.
Mike.

I DID need to supply a copy of my Department I.D. Card, yes. Apart from the Special Editions dealerships order as "demo's", it is said that Harley will only ship those editions to them on a case-by-case qualification, based on a pre-order, proof of identity scenario.
I opted to go with this edition as Harley is known to have discounted these bikes to us via the dealer. However, finding a dealer who will honor the savings is another job altogether. (I'm not complaining at all. In fact, the rare nature of finding those lax dealerships seems to fit well into my 'resell plan' in the event I want something different; hardly a chance anyway. I plan to ride this bad-boy all over God's green acre...if the wife let's me of course.

....) Thanks for the welcome.

It's a beautiful bike. I looked it up on the net.
I removed the big picture because it was skewing the page.

It's the exact same color. They don't seem to offer much else. (Not that there IS anything better, but...it wouldn't hurt 'em to add a bit of white in the mix too.)
The only difference in the '07 and the '06 seems to be in the 96ci motor and the 6th gear in the transmission. (And, some adjustments to the exhaust; I guess because of the extra ci's.)
But, as for the color, things aren't changing there. I like the red; especially in the day. Seems to be quite visable. If it weren't, I guess we firefighters would be riding around in "chartreuse" apparatus.

Funny you should mention the colour chartreuse. In New Westminster, BC, ( a city close to Vancouver) has fire trucks that colour.
In Vancouver, however, they are still red. My Dad was a firefighter and the trucks were red back then too.

Hi there from a UK firefighter.
Just got my first bike and found this place, the site looks cool.
That's a nice looking ride, i doubt very much if HD would ship one of them there bikes to us in UK, but that doesn't matter coz we couldn't afford one on our wages anyway
Cheers,
Zen

Dude, does it have that new 96 inch engine and 6 speed? Did you know you were getting it when you ordered it? I'm test riding one of those next week for my mag. I'd love to hear what you think of that new motor.

This ride will arrive sometime in August from the factory to my dealer location in Oklahahoma City. Unfortunatly, a tad too late for the trip to Sturgis this year. But, I would have had little time to break it in anyway.
And, yes...it does have the new 96ci and six-speed transmission. It is the exact same bike as any other base Ultra for '07.
(Perhaps they've laid back on the amps to the stereo system. That remains to be seen.)
And, yes again. I did know when I placed my order that it would contain the new changes for '07. I waited so long to order that I, by default, would need an '07 anyway. So, it wasn't on purpose that I waited throughout the first of the year to get an '07 for these possible changes. I just had a gut feeling while deciding on my purchase.
(And the rumor mill helped too.)
It sounds like you'll be test riding long before I get mine delivered. So, let me know what YOU think too!
