recommended SportBikes?

#1 Unread post by qwertybo »

I was wondering if anyone recommends a sportbike? I've ridden sportbikes before and I was thinking of getting one. Are their any recomendations? I know a friend that has a Suzuki Hayabusa 1300. Would that be good for on the street?

What type of riding do you plan on doing? Mostly on cuvry roads? Mostly fast straight highway riding? Any sport-adventure ridng or touring? Plan on going to the track often? Letting everyone know what type of riding you plan on doing most with your bike will help determine what type of bike you should get :D

the hayabusa is great for the streets.

it's even classified as a supersport tourer so... you can use it for touring as well.

you can use it for the tracks too but the RR bikes will perform better, assuming rider skill is equal.

on a drag strip though... the busa is one of the best weapons out there.

if you really want a busa, i suggest you wait for the K7 model... they'll finally update it after 7 years since kawasaki came out w/ the ZX-14.

Thanks, Also whats the k7 model? I've never heard of such thing.
And I was watching a video of beginning bikes and the person said for a sportbike anything under a 1000 is good? What are these numbers? He said a 1000 is pretty dangerous for a beginner and a 600 is still pretty fast. This means? And where does it say it in the specs for a bike?

if it's gonna be your 1st bike then getting a 600cc and above sportbike is not a good idea.

RR, race replica sportbikes are intended for experienced riders. these are the 600cc supersports and 1000cc superbikes. suzuki still makes a 750 supersport bike and it's still a RR bike.

basically, it recommended to keep your 1st bike under 60hp.

a modern 600cc RR bike has 100-120hp.

so if you want a sportbike then you don't have many choices... here in the US, the lowest cc sportbike is 600cc.

although... hyosung has the new GT250R, a 250cc sportbike. they're just starting to export bikes here in the US so you might have a hard time getting one.

here's a pic of the GT250R...

nice eh?

and the K7 just means 2007. it's suzuki's way on naming their year models. but forget the busa, it's not a good 1st bike.

The Ninja 250 is not a sport bike? What is it then, a standard or cruiser?

I hope no one buys those China bikes. Its bound to go the way of my other bargains from China that dont work. Next thing you know Harbor Frieght will be selling them. Verm, you talk as if you are importing these things.

I'd rather get a bike I can get here? Suzuki, Honda, Yamaha are the close ones here. Any more stores?

the ninja 250, 500 and GS500 are standard bikes w/ sport style fairings.

i heard that the china bikes are just glorified scooters.

hyosung is a korean company that has been around for quite some time in korea. i think they exported already to europe and australia earlier... and now, they're trying to extend their market to the US.
