SV650S or 650 Bandit

Hey guys and gals I am just looking for some input on both these bikes to help decide which one I would buy. I would like to know about comfort levels riding over a fair distance say about 5 hours, and anything about each bike you like or dislike. Thanks for the help

the SV650 S model has an aggressive sportbike riding position.

so you should go w/ the bandit, even the S model has a standard seating position. which will be more comfortable for long rides.

even w/ my forks raised 8mm in the triples, I wouldn't call the SVS riding position agressive by any means. I rode 2400mi in just a few days, clear across the country on mine w/o any problems. Really just depends if you want an I4 or a vtwin. I'm a low end torque kind of man myself.

The SV is a bit more aggressive but it shouldn't be unbearable. The Bandit has higher bars so you won't have as much back strain. If you're going to use it mostly for navigating the superslab I'd say go with the Bandit simply because it is a bit more relaxed.

Personally I'm just a big fan of the SV. I have very little highway time and lots of backroad and (hopefully

) track time, so I think that I'd probably enjoy the SV a bit more, as a better "all around" bike (IMHO). It's torqueier (don't think that's a word), but has a little less raw horsepower than the Bandit. On the other hand, the SV is almost 75 lbs lighter. The SV is more of a sportbike while the Bandit is more of a sport tourer.

One thing to consider, if you plan on carrying a passenger often I'd go with the Bandit as the rear seat of the SV is high and less than comfy for long rides. For long distances the windscreen on the Bandit (I would think) would be much more effective. It's a good bit taller, so you'll be blasted by less wind (which can fatigue you greatly over long distances).

In the end, I'd go to the Suzuki dealer and sit on both for a while and see what you think of them. Also, factor in what you're planning on doing with each and make your decision.

thanks for your replies guys, we ended up getting the bandit and we pick it up on sat. the bike will be 2 up alot of the time so that was a bit part of the consideration. we went and sat on both for about an hour switching back and forth (I think I got younggun a bit dizzy) but the bandit was all around a better fit for us. thanks!

The S and the N are the same bike except the S has a small fairing. So I have no idea where the "even" came from.

The handlebars are a little lower and the pegs a little further back on the SV650S as compared to the SV650 (naked).

the S has clipons, "rearsets" and the half fairing. Otherwise they're they same motorcycle. I've got a double bubble screen on mine that makes a huge difference in wind blast compared to the stock screen.

Congrats on the purchase, if it has two wheels, and you ride it - that's all that matters
