Was a success! A bit messy, but a success. My stealership was destroyed by the flood here so I took matters into my own hands. However, during the process I noticed two rubber tubes leading nowhere... I might have pulled them loose accidently when detaching the fairing. I can't seem to figure out where they go. The bike starts up and runs fine. Could they be air intakes?? I provided some pictures.. this is how I found them:

Any help for this poor noob is appreciated.

each of those tubes is one of several possiblilities:

1. Airbox drain tube
2. Carb vent tube
3. Battery vent tube
4. Fuel tank overflow/vent tube/breather

All of these are perfectly normal. They are there to keep any excess venting from dropping on hot engine/exhaust bits/frame members

Just be sure not to mistake your motor oil for olive oil when your girlfriend comes over for dinner...
