Hey, fellow Road Pilots.
This link was sent to me by some riders I know. This crash happened when a speeding rider met with a left-turning car. This particular rider must have been doing over 100mph at the time of impact (just look at the debris).

This is a very sad reminder about how motorcycling is a game of risk management and smart choices.

Thank you for sharing that.
I was just starting to get good enough to be cocky and forget that other idiots on the road can kill me just as dead.

It's also a reminder that gear definitely has limits of protection. Do not assume for a minute that you will be happy with the outcome of any crash, and your misery rises exponentially with speed at point of impact.

Yes, indeed. This is a sobering example of why we DON'T race through intersections as experienced riders.
Risk management, my friends... some of us are better at it than others.

first off, that's sucks that their buddies didn't stop.....they just left them there? ...that's horrible.
the crash looks really bad but i still don't get how the crash happened, and the guy has ALL his gear on.......it's things like this that makes me think of buying a car.

I don't think any gear could help you with a wreck like that going 100+MPH. Not very smart.

Speed Kills. Doesn't matter if you're on a bike or in a cage. They're not race cars with roll cages, full harnesses and neck tethers.
