smoke/hot pipes/leaky exhaust joint

Hi there, so I tipped over my bike (1982 Honda CB 750k) trying to fix it, left it lying there for about a half hour while I hopped around on one leg trying to find ice for my shin etc. Well, I gave it a day to let everything drain out that might have flooded in, and when I started it today, it started smoking almost immediately. The smoke I traced to the joint between the exhaust and the four pipes, which is bubbling out a black oily tar substance all over my driveway (anyone have any suggestions on how to get oil stains off pavement? besides just doing the repairs on public property?). How should I go about fixing that? And the other problem was that just after a minute or so of idling, the pipes were blazing, seriously hot. I felt the heat and touched one briefly and now have a blister on my thumb. I checked the oil on the level bike after the engine had cooled a bit and while it is on the lower side it is still a fair bit above the bottom line, so I don't think that's it. Is the smoke and the hot pipes connected do you think? What else should I check? Thanks much! On a lighter note, I'm kind of happy it happened, as I got the bike so I could learn about how it worked mechanically, and this is just another chance for a lesson![/list]
