Hey guys, sorry but I got so involved in the project I didn't take any pics along the way, but IT STARTS!!!!! After a month and a half and all of the boxes that the bike came in, IT STARTS!!!!! Now I just have to fix all the bugs. It is ideing high at startup and even when warm, about 4200rpm , I'm just thinking that I should rebuild the carbs (keeping in mind that all I was doing was putting the puzzle together and not really disassembling anything for cleaning). I figure that should cure that. I'll give her an oil change. and see what happens from there. Over the winter I will be doing a complete teardown with new paint, degreasing everything, etc. basically a compete restore is the project for now, it may change as the weather grows cold. If anybody has any other ideas to get it smooth for now, please advise, and thanks again.

ianam but maybe the high idle is curable by twisting that idle screw a little.

make sure your throttle cables are good and lubed!

Meow being a car guy all my life and not a bike guy, how do I go about lubing cables, and how do I adjust the clutch properly. I am going to rip down the carbs this week replacing all of the boots lines and hoses. I am a bit nervous about the carbs. I can rip apart a Holly or a Quadrabog with my eyes closed but these Mikunis scare the crap out of me. I've never even tried to do them on my sled. My Polaris had Mikunis also. I guess the most intimidating part is making sure that they are working properly together.

if it is idling high then check for vacume leaks by spraying water from a squirt bottle around the carb boots
